What You'll Do

At SECOG/SEDF, we develop:

Governor's Houses (new construction)
Recycled Houses (homes moved from one site to another and renovated)
Rehabilitated Houses (homes requiring extensive renovation and modernization)

As an Carpenter, you will work closely with our Construction Manager and construction team on a wide variety of residential construction and renovation projects.

This is a full-time, year-round position. Most work is performed in the Sioux Falls area, although some same-day out-of-town travel may be required.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday
40 hours per week (M-Th (9) and F (4))
No nights
No weekends
No on-call requirements
During the summer, employees work four 10-hour days (M-Th)

A Typical Day May Include

Framing garages, basements, and interior renovations
Installing doors and windows
Installing cabinets and countertops
Installing interior and exterior trim
Installing garage doors
Building decks and stairs
Installing siding and soffits
Performing other duties as assigned

What We'll Love About You

Based on our experience, 3–5 years of carpentry experience is required to successfully perform the duties of this position.

This is not an entry-level position. SECOG/SEDF is seeking an experienced carpenter and is not able to provide carpentry training for individuals without the necessary residential construction experience. Candidates must be capable of performing the essential job duties independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-moving team
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Mobility and physical ability to perform job duties at various construction sites
Reliable attendance and dependability
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Compensation

$25.62–$36.18 per hour, depending on experience
