Forward is a Southeast WI based construction company which provides infrastructure work for local Municipalities. The work area which we construct projects is as follows; East is Lake Michigan, West is Madison, South is the state line, and North is Oshkosh. The Company excels in walk and pavement repairs but does a wide range of work from large excavation to tuck pointing. We place concrete all day.

We are Looking for an experienced concrete finishers and laborers. The majority of the work will be sidewalk repairs, curb and gutter and pavements. We set forms, fine grade and place concrete with this crew. Experience running a skid steers, and a CDL is not required but is a plus. For certain personal this will be year-round work, depending on experience.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for finishing concrete. Your expertise will ensure that concrete work meets precise specifications and safety standards, contributing to the successful completion of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites and develop your skills in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Duties

Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, and screeds.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and ensure accurate execution.
Install formwork and rebar reinforcement according to construction plans to support concrete placement.
Adherence to construction workplace safety regulations by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols at all times.
Collaborate with team members on heavy lifting tasks, concrete cutting or demolition work during restoration or renovation projects.

Qualifications

Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete finishing or related trades such as masonry or carpentry.
Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, power equipment, and heavy machinery used in concrete work.
Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and best practices for safe operation of hand tools and power tools.
Skills in rebar installation, formwork construction, concrete pouring, cutting, and finishing techniques.
Physical capability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing demanding manual tasks in various weather conditions.
