Job Summary

Woodacre is seeking an HVAC technician with 5+ years experience with residential systems and equipment who is looking to learn and contribute in a team envrionment. Primary duties include installation, maintenance, and service on a wide range of heating and cooling equipment. We are a small, full service company installing and servicing hydronic and forced air systems; gas, oil, central air conditioning, and heat pump systems.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems, including air conditioning and heat pump systems, gas and oil boilers and furnaces.
Understand schematics and technical information to accurately and quickly diagnose issues and execute repairs.
Troubleshoot mechanical systems and perform necessary repairs.
On-call coverage is required approximately once a month, Friday pm through Monday am. There is a separate stipend and pay rate for on-call hours.
Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during field service visits.
Maintain equipment and service vehicle and complete all necessary work and equipiment orders in a timely manner.

Skills

Proven experience in service technician roles or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC systems.
Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems, plumbing, and refrigeration processes.
Mechanical knowledge of HVAC system installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting techniques.
Sheet metal and duct work experience.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately in complex mechanical environments.
Effective communication with customers and co-workers.
Attentiveness to detail with both hands-on skills and necessary reporting.
Massachusetts Oil burner license a plus.
Massachusetts Sheet Metal License or interest in working towards this license.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating various field service vehicles is preferred.

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
