Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 - 5; will be required to work Saturdays and overtime as needed.

Job Summary: Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul fleet, such as feed trucks, spray trucks, straight trucks, pickups, and farm equipment.

Job Description

Essential Functions

Record details of repairs made and parts used.

Reassemble machines and equipment following repair; test operation; and make adjustments as necessary.

Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles

Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions.

Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools.

Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools.

Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.

Clean and lubricate parts.

Tune or overhaul engines.

Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery.

Fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools.

Calculate bills according to record of repairs made, labor time, and parts used.

Install and repair, plumbing systems on spray trucks.

Repair bent or torn sheet metal.

Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills

CDL; Qualified Brake Inspector (must complete training approved by a state or federal agency or have certificate from state that qualifies to perform brake service inspection)

Preferred education and other skills

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

6 plus months of experience preferred.

Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
