Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple projects from initiation through completion. This role is responsible for driving overall project direction, scheduling, financial performance, technical execution, and quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will ensure full compliance with safety standards, project specifications, cost controls, reporting requirements, and field engineering activities. Additionally, this position requires building and maintaining strong relationships with owners, community stakeholders, and internal project teams. The Senior Project Manager will report directly to the Vice President.

Duties

● Ability to commute between Oakland office and projects

● Perform all essential Project Manager duties, including attending meetings, setting up electronic filing systems, and updating drawings, specifications, and logs.

● Review project plans, specifications, budgets, and perform material take-offs.

● Manage subcontractors, vendors, and truckers, review submittals, and maintain purchase orders.

● Prepare necessary plans (SWPP, traffic, excavation, etc.), manage pre-planning, and maintain change order logs.

● Coordinate with and manage Project Engineers, Foremen, and subcontractors for materials delivery and site-specific needs.

● Track and report project progress, labor costs, and quantities in place.

● Handle extra work orders, maintain record set drawings and document punch list work.

● Attend handoff meetings, maintain a three-week look-ahead schedule, and ensure accurate timecard submissions.

● Foster client relations, ensure successful project execution and manage close-out documents.

● Maintain a site-specific safety plan, including pre-task planning, audits, meetings, and training to ensure compliance with safety protocols.

● Prepare and manage all submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) to ensure clear communication and proper documentation.

Experience

Industrial Heavy Construction: 3 years (Minimum Required)

Skills and Qualifications

● Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred, with 3+ years’ experience in Heavy Civil Construction

● Understanding of construction cost accounting, estimating, and scheduling

● Demonstrated knowledge of underground utility construction, grading and paving

● Proficient in reading blueprints and specifications

● Excellent supervisory communication, organizational skills, decision-making and leadership skills

● Experience with Bluebeam and Viewpoint, and ability to manage time, priorities, and cash flow under pressure.

● A valid driver’s license is required.

● Experience in the San Francisco Bay Area market is a plus.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
