Allied Fire Control is seeking a reliable and skilled Wet Chemical Fire Suppression System Technician to join our team. This role focuses on the inspection, testing, servicing, and repair of pre-engineered wet chemical fire suppression systems, such as those used in commercial kitchen range hoods. The ideal candidate will have experience with these systems and be familiar with applicable NFPA codes and fire safety standards.

Job Summary:

The technician will be responsible for the inspection, testing, installation, and repair of wet and dry chemical fire suppression systems, as well as portable fire extinguishers, in compliance with NFPA standards and company protocols.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform routine and complex maintenance and repairs on wet and dry chemical fire suppression systems (e.g., kitchen hood systems, Paint Booth Systems, Elevator Systems).
Conduct semi-annual and annual inspections and testing of systems in accordance with NFPA 17, 17A, 96, and 10.
Service and tag portable fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10.
Accurately navigate through our Field Service Mobile App, complete service reports, inspection forms, and documentation of any deficiencies or corrective actions.
Respond to scheduled service calls and emergency repairs.
Ensure all work complies with fire and building codes, as well as company and industry standards.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
Minimum 1 year of experience in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of pre-engineered fire suppression systems.
NYC Certificate of Fitness W-96, or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Skills & Qualifications:

Solid understanding of NFPA 10, 17, 17A, and 96 Guidelines and Regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of All Fire Suppression System types. (e.g., Ansul R-102, Pyrochem, Kidde)
Excellent troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately.
Good customer service and communication skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
Must be able to travel throughout the Tri-State Area (NY, NJ, CT).
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
