Home Improvement Sales Consultant

At American Heritage Fireplace (AHF), we help homeowners transform their homes with custom fireplaces and outdoor living solutions. We're looking for a hands-on, consultative Sales Consultant who enjoys being in the field, understands residential construction, and loves helping customers turn ideas into reality.

This isn't a desk job. You'll spend time meeting homeowners, walking job sites, collaborating with builders and designers, and guiding projects from concept through installation. If you're comfortable talking construction, solving problems, and closing high-value sales, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Consult with Homeowners:

Meet clients in our showroom and at their homes to understand their vision and recommend the best fireplace or outdoor living solution.
Educate customers on product options, installation requirements, and project timelines.

Build Custom Solutions

Read blueprints, construction plans, and project drawings.
Take field measurements and assess job site conditions.
Work with homeowners, builders, architects, and designers to create custom fireplace and outdoor living projects.

Drive Sales

Manage the entire sales process from first consultation through signed contract.
Prepare proposals, estimates, and follow up on outstanding quotes.
Build long-term relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.

Be the Project Expert

Coordinate with the installation team to ensure a smooth handoff.
Help solve problems that arise during the sales and installation process.
Serve as the trusted advisor throughout the customer's project.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is comfortable both talking with customers and walking through an active construction site.

Required

High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in consultative sales, residential construction, remodeling, estimating, or a related field.
Experience selling high-ticket products or services.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Experience

Residential construction or remodeling.
Kitchen & bath remodeling.
Roofing, windows, doors, siding, decks, or outdoor living.
Flooring, cabinetry, or countertops.
HVAC, masonry, fireplaces, or home improvement.
Blueprint or construction plan reading.
Working with builders, contractors, or architects.

You have a basic understanding of residential construction, can recognize what's feasible on a project, and are eager to learn the fireplace industry.
You can communicate equally well with homeowners, builders, and installers.
You're naturally curious, ask good questions, and enjoy finding solutions.
You're motivated by closing deals and earning uncapped commissions.
