About the Role

Karns Foods is a well-established, locally owned grocery chain committed to providing our community with high-quality products and exceptional service. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our stores. You will collaborate closely with store management to guarantee a safe, clean, and inviting environment for both customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance: Execute essential facility upkeep involving carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
Preventative Inspections: Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
Responsive Support: Answer maintenance requests from store managers and staff promptly.
Equipment Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in self-contained refrigeration units, plumbing systems, and lighting fixtures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and supply usage.
Safety Compliance: Assist in the implementation and enforcement of safety protocols within the stores.
Workspace Management: Keep a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored safely.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a comparable role.
Strong working knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience operating a scissor lift safely and a high comfort level working at heights.
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects when necessary.
Availability to work occasional nights and participate in an on-call rotation every third weekend.
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant trade certifications are a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
