Part-Time Service Plumber — As-Needed / On-Call
Waterflow Plumbing Inc. | Chicago & Surrounding Suburbs

Waterflow Plumbing Inc. is looking for a dependable plumber or experienced apprentice to help handle service calls on a part-time, as-needed basis. Our work is approximately 90% residential and 10% commercial, with a focus on troubleshooting, repairs, replacements, and emergency service.

This position is a good fit for someone with strong residential plumbing experience who is looking for additional work and can represent our company professionally.

Schedule & Availability

This position has a variable schedule rather than fixed daily shifts. As jobs come in, we will contact you to coordinate assignments based on your availability, qualifications, and the urgency of the call.

We need someone who can provide backup service coverage, respond promptly, and take short-notice jobs when available. Calls may come in during the day, evening, overnight, or on weekends. Availability for nighttime and emergency service calls is an important part of this role.

Hours will vary based on demand, and a consistent weekly schedule is not guaranteed. Clear communication about your availability and reliability once you accept a job are essential.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair common residential plumbing problems, with assignments and supervision appropriate to your experience and licensing.
Repair and replace toilets, faucets, garbage disposals, shutoff valves, supply lines, and other plumbing fixtures.
Troubleshoot leaks, clogged drains, water heater issues, and water supply or drainage problems.
Perform water heater replacements, piping repairs, and other service work within your qualifications.
Assist with occasional commercial plumbing service calls.
Communicate findings, needed materials, and job progress to management.
Take clear before-and-after photos, test completed work, and leave the work area clean.
Treat customers, tenants, and their property with care and professionalism.

Qualifications

Current plumbing license preferred, but experienced apprentices and applicants with strong hands-on residential plumbing experience are welcome to apply. Responsibilities and supervision will be based on experience and licensing.
Practical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with common residential plumbing systems.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Dependable communication, punctuality, and follow-through on accepted jobs.
Availability for some evening, nighttime, and weekend calls.
Strong workmanship, attention to detail, and safe working practices.

To Apply

Please include your plumbing experience, license or apprenticeship status if applicable, general availability, areas you can cover, and whether you are available for nighttime and emergency calls.
