We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to support the installation of fire life safety systems within commercial properties. This role is focused on tenant improvement (TI) and construction-based fire alarm projects, with primary responsibilities centered around demolition, construction rough-ins, and device installation. The Fire Alarm Technician plays a key role in project execution by preparing job sites, installing system components, and ensuring installations meet code requirements and project specifications. Candidates should have experience in commercial fire alarm installation, low voltage wiring, and construction environments.
Key Responsibilities

Install commercial fire alarm and fire life safety systems
Perform demolition of existing fire alarm devices, wiring, and infrastructure during renovation and tenant improvement projects
Complete construction rough-ins, including mounting backboxes, installing conduit, drilling pathways, and preparing walls/ceilings for device placement
Install fire alarm devices such as smoke detectors, pull stations, horn strobes, modules, and control equipment
Pull and terminate low voltage fire alarm wiring according to project drawings and code requirements
Assist with layout and placement of devices based on blueprints and shop drawings
Coordinate daily tasks with Lead Technician or Foreman
Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics
Maintain clean and organized job sites throughout project lifecycle
Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and installation equipment safely
Follow all OSHA and workplace safety standards
Support project prep, material staging, and job closeout activities
Demonstrate understanding of fire life safety system components and functionality

Position Requirements:

0-2+ years in construction and/or low voltage installation
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).
Maintain punctuality and dependable attendance

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily.
Ability to drive, walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and multi-tenant properties.
Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 50+ pounds, dailya
Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
