Hellas., Inc., headquartered in Austin, TX, is a nationwide specializing in sports facility construction. We manufacture, install, and resurface artificial turfs & synthetic surfaces while completing the design from start to finish. Hellas, Inc. – Sports Lighting Division is looking for a skilled Boom Truck Operator to join our team and increase our national presence with extensive traveling.

Job Summary:

The Boom Truck Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a boom truck to hoist and move materials or equipment as required. This role involves performing daily inspections, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring that all lifts are executed with precision.

Key Responsibilities

Operate Boom Truck: Safely operate a boom truck to lift, move, and position heavy materials such as steel, concrete, equipment, and other construction materials.

Perform Inspections: Conduct daily inspections of the boom truck crane and its components (e.g., hydraulic systems, hoists, and rigging) to ensure the equipment is in good working condition.

Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, including OSHA standards, to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.

Coordinate with Ground Crew: Communicate with ground personnel and riggers to execute precise lifts and ensure proper placement of materials.

Read Blueprints and Plans: Review and interpret work orders, blueprints, and load charts to determine the appropriate settings for crane operations.

Load Management: Calculate the weight and balance of loads to ensure that they fall within the crane’s lifting capacity.

Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on the boom truck, including lubricating parts, checking fluid levels, and reporting any equipment issues.

Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Adhere to Time Schedules: Operate efficiently to meet project timelines and schedules.

Requirements:

Experience: Proven experience as a crane operator, preferably with boom truck cranes.

Certification: Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO certification).

Licensing: A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.

Physical Ability: Good physical condition, with the ability to lift heavy loads and work in various weather conditions.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to work effectively with team members and supervisors.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess and resolve operational challenges during lifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating other types of cranes or heavy equipment.

Additional certifications in rigging, signaling, or safety procedures.

Bilingual/English/Spanish

Work Environment:

Boom Truck Crane Operator will work outdoors on sports construction sites. They may be required to work at heights, and in various weather conditions.

This job requires focus, physical endurance, and a commitment to safety. This job is 100% Travel on the road.
