Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description: As a Quality Inspector, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that our production meets the strict quality requirements defined by customers. Your role will involve developing and implementing quality control and inspection procedures, conducting first article inspections, analyzing data for continuous improvement, and collaborating closely with production teams to address quality issues. Your attention to detail, knowledge of industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO9001, and ability to drive quality initiatives will be essential in upholding our commitment to excellence in manufacturing.
Company Background: Toolmax Designing & Tooling, Inc., located in Ashford, CT, is a growing family-owned tooling and manufacturing company that primarily services the aerospace industry. We hold both AS9100 and ISO9001 certifications and have various manufacturing capabilities, including: tooling design and fabrication, sheet metal forming and stamping, and both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough quality inspections to ensure adherence to blueprints and strict quality requirements
- Perform, validate, and report first article inspections
- Identify non-conformities, investigate root causes, and collaborate with all interested parties to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Generate inspection reports, documentation, and maintain accurate records of inspection results
- Monitor and maintain the quality management system processes and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality inspection within the aerospace industry
- Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards, such as AS9100, ISO9001, and industry-specific requirements
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience in using measurement tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, shadow boards, and manual CMM equipment
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
