Summary:
Palmer Foundry is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our No Bake melt team (experienced melter preferred). You will be responsible for preparing, melting, and delivering high-quality molten aluminum for our casting processes.
Duties:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have good reading, math, and retention skills, and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Enter all data required for operation
- Test metal per specifications
- Use additives for the metal per spec
- Reload ladles after each pour
- Recharge furnace with ingot and scrap
- Pour molds per specification
- Operate and maintain furnaces
- Housekeeping area
- Assist with closing and mold preparation
- Retrieve ingot and scrap for furnaces
- Inspect crane system
- Maintain ladles
- Degas metal per specifications
- Assist with performing maintenance on equipment
- Use of measurement instruments
- Clean and maintain area
- Attend production meetings
- Complete department safety sheets
- Perform other duties or assignments as directed by management

Education/Experience:
No specific education or certification is required, however, high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired.

Shift schedule is 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
This position may require access to export-controlled technology or software source code that is subject to export controls restrictions under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) and will therefore be required to meet eligibility criteria under ITAR and EAR regulations.
