Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable Architectural Sheet Metal Laborer to support our field crews on commercial jobsites. In this role, you’ll help keep the crew productive by handling material movement, site prep, basic installation support, clean-up, and tool/equipment handling. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the trade, work with their hands, and grow into an installer role over time.
Responsibilities
- Assist installers with day-to-day work on architectural sheet metal projects (flashing, panels, coping, fascia/soffit, gutters/downspouts, and related components).
- Stage materials and hardware where the crew needs them to keep production moving.
- Set up and break down work areas (barricades, ladders, basic layout tools, jobsite organization).
- Load/unload materials, tools, and equipment at the shop and jobsite.
- Carry, sort, and organize metal materials, fasteners, and supplies.
- Help track materials and notify the lead when supplies are running low.
- Use basic hand and power tools safely (as trained).
- Assist with lift setup/spotting and moving equipment around the jobsite (as trained and certified).
- Perform basic checks on tools/equipment and report issues to the crew lead.
- Follow all safety rules—PPE, fall protection requirements, jobsite housekeeping, and lift safety.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to prevent trips, damage, and lost time.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Take direction from Leadman and learn correct installation practices and jobsite expectations.
- Grow skills in measuring, cutting, fastening, sealing, and handling architectural sheet metal systems.
Experience
- Construction labor experience preferred (sheet metal, roofing, siding, or exterior envelope experience is a plus).
- Entry-level candidates will be considered if dependable and willing to learn.
Skills
- Willingness to work hard, follow direction, and stay productive.
- Basic tool knowledge (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Strong teamwork and communication on a jobsite.
Certifications (Preferred)
- OSHA 10 preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to become certified for lifts/aerial equipment is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/carry materials (often 50 lbs+ with assistance as required).
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders/scaffolding, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in extended positions for the duration of the shift.
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred (trade school/apprenticeship a plus).
