Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, local codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from renovations to new constructions, utilizing your comprehensive electrical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Install, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute electrical layouts.
- Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters and multimeters to diagnose electrical issues and verify system integrity.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high voltage circuits to ensure proper operation of complex automation equipment.
- Follow NEC standards and local electrical codes to ensure all installations meet safety and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work with framing carpentry, renovation activities, and other trades.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on electrical systems across multiple sites.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including schematics updates and inspection reports.
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems in construction or renovation projects.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for accurate installations.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage wiring for automation applications.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, along with power tools like drills and saws safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems adhering to NEC standards.
- Experience working on construction sites with an understanding of framing carpentry and handyman tasks related to electrical work.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools to identify faults quickly.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with team members and project managers during complex installations or repairs.
