San Antonio| Full-Time in Person
About Us
We are a newly launched trade school platform backed by one of the world’s most respected investment groups. With unmatched resources, state-of-the-art facilities, and a mission to raise the bar for skilled trades education, we are building programs that prepare students to thrive from day one on the job. HVAC is one of our core offerings, and we are seeking a Director of HVAC to design, lead, and grow this program.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to shape one of the most advanced HVAC training programs in the country. As our Director of HVAC, you will:
- Build and lead the HVAC program from the ground up.
- Guide the design of a custom HVAC training lab that mirrors real-world systems.
- Teach and mentor students in a hands-on, 6-week training cycle designed to take high school graduates, career switchers, and veterans from zero experience to job-ready.
- See immediate impact — every 6 weeks, a new cohort graduates ready to enter the workforce with real, employable skills.
- Stay active in the trade with opportunities to continue field work alongside your teaching.
- Grow with us as we expand nationally — this role has the potential to scale into leadership across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver an accelerated entry-level HVAC curriculum focused on safety, installation, troubleshooting, and modern systems.
- Lead the buildout and operation of a state-of-the-art HVAC training lab.
- Teach, coach, and mentor students from diverse backgrounds to prepare them for immediate success in the field.
- Refine and improve the 6-week program with each cycle, ensuring it remains hands-on, relevant, and industry-leading.
- Recruit and mentor future HVAC instructors as the program grows.
- Stay current on industry standards, codes, and technologies, ensuring our program leads the field.
- Represent the HVAC program with contractors, community partners, and industry organizations.
What We’re Looking For
- Expertise: 7+ years in HVAC (residential and/or commercial).
- Credentials: EPA Section 608 required; NATE certification preferred.
- Contractor/journeyman license a plus.
- Teaching/mentorship: Experience training apprentices or technicians; ability to inspire students new to the trade.
- Leadership: Ready to run a department and guide program growth.
- Passion: A genuine commitment to advancing the HVAC profession.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay: $80,000 – $110,000 base, with performance incentives up to $130,000+.
- Influence: Lead the program and shape the training lab.
- Flexibility: Protected time to remain active in the field.
- Benefits: Health, dental, vision, and retirement.
- Support: Relocation assistance available.
- Growth: Professional development funding and a leadership path to overseeing multiple campuses.
Why This Role Stands Out
Every 6 weeks, you’ll see students go from zero knowledge to job-ready HVAC technicians. That means your teaching has a direct, visible impact on people’s lives and careers — and you’ll get to refine the program and grow it nationally as we expand. Unlike traditional teaching jobs, this role blends hands-on instruction, program leadership, and real-world practice.
