Overview
ESI is currently seeking a skilled and dependable Electrical Service Manager to join our team. This role will oversee the daily operations of the service department, manage field technicians, coordinate service work, and support estimating and customer relationships. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor service electricians, fire alarm technicians, and apprentices
- Schedule and coordinate service calls, preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and small projects
- Oversee service work related to electrical distribution systems, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems
- Manage fire alarm inspections, testing schedules, deficiency repairs, and system troubleshooting, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with NFPA 72 and applicable codes
- Coordinate with customers, AHJs, and internal teams regarding fire alarm system service and compliance requirements
- Review and prepare service proposals, inspection reports, and time-and-material work orders
- Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget
- Maintain strong client relationships and support business development opportunities
- Monitor department performance, productivity, and profitability
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA standards, safety regulations, and local codes
- Oversee material procurement, inventory, and fleet coordination
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training service personnel
Qualifications
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license required
- 7+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
- 3+ years in a supervisory or service management role
- Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical systems
- Fire alarm experience required, including system installation, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and code compliance
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72 requirements and fire alarm documentation processes
- NICET Fire Alarm certification (Level II or higher) preferred
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards and fire alarm testing procedures and reporting requirements preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience with estimating or service management software preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
