Job description:
The Project Managers are the “CEO” of their projects, overseeing coordination of all parts of the construction process and work with our internal management team, our estimating team, vendors, engineers, and others.
The Project Managers will work closely with other members of the management team to ensure best practices are being followed for the jobs and the financial performance standards that are in place for the company. The Project Manager will be considered part of the Management Team.
The Project Managers will also be responsible for successfully leading a team of Superintendents and Foremen.
About the Job
The Project Manager will have hands on responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the planning, safety, execution, and financial performance of all projects and for all project management operations of the Company to deliver projects 1) with perfect safety, 2) with quality, 3) on time, 4) and under budget.
Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View
- Discuss projects that estimating is bidding prior to submitting bids
- Review project contracts and specification
- Track productions that were estimated
- Meeting the project schedule and organizing the resources needed to do so using Microsoft Projects
- Develop and discuss project “handoff” for the superintendent
- Verify the super is making sure the foremen are entering the correct information into TRIP
- Ensure information is entered within the allotted timeframe (10am following day)
- Overseeing field Superintendents pertaining to field productions using TRIP system
- monitoring the project budget and billing the client for work completed
- Work with Safety department to co-develop a job site safety plan and policy.
- Purchasing materials, equipment and hiring subcontractors
- Verify contract compliance
- Setup all meetings that pertain to project
- Track cost of the project
- Able to recognize potential opportunities, changes in scope of work and change orders
- Must have intimate knowledge of the plans and specification and scope requirements for assigned projects
Qualifications
o In-depth understanding of construction procedures, ODOT and project management
o Familiarity with quality of health and safety standards
o Good knowledge of MS Office
o Familiarity with construction/project management software
o Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
o Excellent organizational and time management skills
o A team player with leadership abilities
o BSc/BA in construction management or relevant field
