Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marine Operation Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of marine operations within our organization. The Marine Operation Manager will coordinate vessel movements, manage maintenance schedules, and supervise a team of technical specialists, ensuring all operations adhere to industry standards and safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily marine operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and port logistics to ensure seamless execution.
- Coordinate with service technicians and technical teams to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on vessels and related equipment.
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems, mechanical components, and rigging setups on ships and dockside equipment.
- Supervise heavy lifting operations using cranes and power tools, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters to verify equipment integrity and compliance with safety standards.
- Manage fabrication, assembly, welding, soldering, sheet metal work, and fabrication tasks necessary for vessel modifications or repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, safety checks, and operational logs while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead training sessions for staff on the use of hand tools, power tools, electrical systems, and safety procedures to enhance team skills.
- Foster excellent customer service by coordinating with clients regarding vessel schedules or special operational requests.
- Ensure all marine activities adhere to safety standards related to electrical work, mechanical repairs, welding practices, and heavy lifting procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a service technician or mechanic in marine or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of schematics related to electrical systems, mechanical assemblies, and rigging setups.
- Military background with relevant technical training is highly desirable for leadership skills and discipline.
- Extensive electrical experience including troubleshooting using multimeters (ohmmeters) and soldering techniques.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance, fabrication processes (welding, sheet metal work), and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Familiarity with calibration tools such as calipers for precision measurements.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate equipment like cranes or hoists.
- Customer service skills combined with sales experience are advantageous for client interactions.
