Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Duct Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining ductwork systems, primarily within HVAC and refrigeration environments. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with schematics, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The successful applicant will contribute to ensuring efficient air distribution systems and support property maintenance projects across commercial and industrial settings. A valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain sheet metal ductwork in accordance with project specifications and schematics
Read and interpret HVAC design plans, schematics, and technical drawings to execute installations accurately
Perform service technician duties including troubleshooting HVAC/R systems, refrigeration units, and appliance repairs
Utilize tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to ensure proper system operation
Conduct equipment repair and maintenance tasks on HVAC units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and related machinery
Assist in the installation of plumbing and refrigeration components as needed for HVAC systems
Diagnose issues using mechanical knowledge and field service experience to recommend appropriate solutions
Ensure safety protocols are followed during all phases of installation and maintenance work
Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used during repairs or installations

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction, HVAC/R service technician roles, or related mechanical fields
Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing, refrigeration, and property maintenance
Mechanical knowledge related to air conditioning systems, boilers, ammonia refrigeration, and appliance repair
Experience with equipment repair including welding, boiler maintenance, and general mechanical troubleshooting
Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
Field service experience preferred; capable of working independently or as part of a team
Proficiency with testing tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment
Valid driver’s license required; experience with commercial driving preferred
Additional skills such as welding expertise or refrigeration system knowledge will be considered a plus
