Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Combo Pipe Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves overseeing and executing complex pipe welding and fitting tasks across various construction projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional proficiency in multiple welding techniques, blueprint interpretation, and mechanical assembly, ensuring all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations. As a leader on the team, you will coordinate tasks, mentor junior staff, and uphold the highest quality standards to support our commitment to excellence.
Duties
- Lead the welding and fitting of pipe systems using mainly STICK and TIG welding techniques in accordance with project specifications and ASME codes & standards.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble piping systems for pipelines, HVAC, fire sprinkler fitting, plumbing, or other mechanical applications.
- Perform pipe threading, tube bending, soldering, and assembly of components utilizing hand tools, power tools, calipers, and rigging equipment.
- Conduct quality inspections of welds and fittings to ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate construction site activities related to pipe installation, maintenance, or manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work progress, materials used, and inspection reports.
- Provide mentorship to team members on welding techniques, safety procedures, and technical troubleshooting.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols at all times while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Combo Pipe Welder/Fitter with demonstrated leadership capabilities in construction or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in TIG and STICK welding methods.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing HVAC systems, pipe threading, soldering, tube bending, rigging, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards applicable to pipeline fabrication and installation.
- Experience working on construction sites or manufacturing facilities with a focus on plumbing or pipeline projects.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, schematics reading devices, and basic math for measurements and calculations.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures related to piping systems and mechanical components.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical instructions clearly while maintaining high safety standards. Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
