Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our team and lead the refrigeration portion of our service team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of equipment, including ammonia refrigeration, HVAC systems, and plumbing components. As a vital part of our service team, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration and HVAC equipment. While we are growing the refrigeration branch of our service, you will be required to assist the other team members in repairing other commercial equipment, or assisting with some delivery and installations.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, and ammonia refrigeration units using schematics and technical manuals.
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, air conditioning units, boilers, and related mechanical equipment to prevent breakdowns.
Install new refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical components following detailed schematics and HVAC design plans.
Conduct electrical testing using tools like ohmmeters to identify faults in equipment wiring or control systems.
Utilize welding skills for repairs involving metal components or piping in refrigeration or HVAC systems.
Maintain accurate service records, complete detailed reports on repairs performed, parts used, and system status updates.
Ensure compliance with safety standards related to refrigerants (including ammonia) and mechanical operations during all field service activities.
Assist contractor to install hood systems for restaurants when needed.
Assist teammate with repairs on items outside of HVAC territor if needed. Items such as ovens, slicers, and deep fryers to name a few.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a service technician specializing in commercial refrigeration, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration), or property maintenance.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, appliance repair, plumbing, welding, and boiler systems.
Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
Field service experience working on ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Knowledge of construction practices related to installing or repairing refrigeration and HVAC systems.
