Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team within the sheet metal fabrication industry. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for complex projects, ensuring competitive pricing, and supporting project teams from initial bid through project completion. Your expertise will help drive successful project outcomes by providing precise budgeting, fostering strong client relationships, and contributing to overall cost control initiatives. Responsibilities
- Review customer RFQs, drawings, and specifications for sheet metal fabrication projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, machining, finishing, tooling, and outside services.
- Analyze manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, and assembly.
- Estimate pricing for both custom fabrication projects and standard product lines.
- Work with engineering and production teams to determine optimal manufacturing methods.
- Maintain and update cost databases, material pricing, and labor standards.
Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in estimating within sheet metal fabrication Industry or metal manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes including laser cutting, turret punching, forming, welding, finishing, and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience estimating custom fabrication work and/or product line manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and estimating software. (EPICOR/Vantage a plus)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.3-5 years of experience in estimating within.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Experience:
- estimating costs for custom fabrication projects: 3 years (Preferred)
- maintaining cost databases, material price & labor standard: 3 years (Preferred)
- preparing cost estimates (materials, labor, machining, etc): 3 years (Preferred)
