REVIT MEP / BIM SPECIALIST - MECHANICAL DESIGNER

STRAND is seeking a highly skilled Revit MEP / BIM Specialist to support the development and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems using Autodesk Revit. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing high-quality BIM models, producing construction documents, and coordinating MEP systems with architectural and structural disciplines.
This position works closely with mechanical engineers and project managers to translate engineering designs into detailed BIM models and construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
Key ResponsibilitiesBIM Modeling and Design Support
- Develop detailed Revit MEP models for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Create coordinated BIM models for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
- Translate engineering sketches, markups, and design calculations into BIM models.
- Produce 2D construction drawings and documentation from Revit models.
MEP Coordination
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural models.
- Identify and resolve clashes using BIM coordination tools.
- Participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
- Assist engineers in maintaining constructible and efficient MEP layouts.
BIM Standards and Model Management
- Maintain company BIM standards, templates, and families.
- Ensure models comply with project BIM execution plans and internal standards.
- Manage model updates and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation and Deliverables
- Produce detailed mechanical and plumbing drawings including:
- HVAC duct layouts
- equipment schedules
- piping layouts
- riser diagrams
- coordination drawings
- Assist engineers with preparing permit and construction documentation.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Architecture, or BIM-related field.
- Minimum 3–7 years of Revit MEP experience in the AEC industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Experience producing construction documents for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Strong understanding of MEP coordination and BIM workflows.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Architecture, or BIM-related field.
- Minimum 3–7 years of Revit MEP experience in the AEC industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Experience producing construction documents for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Strong understanding of MEP coordination and BIM workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with mechanical engineering consulting firms.
- Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing system design concepts.
- Experience with large residential or commercial building projects.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination software (Navisworks, BIM 360, etc.).
- Experience creating custom Revit families and BIM templates.
