Overview:

The Raw Material Handler is responsible for receiving, identifying, moving, storing, and preparing raw materials for production. This role also operates industrial saw equipment to cut material to required dimensions while maintaining quality and safety. Working closely with Purchasing and Production Teams to support material availability, communicate inventory needs, and provide updates on material status to maintain production schedules.
Location - need to be willing to work in both Dallas and Richardson depending on the assignments given. Eventually, we will only be in Richardson at 1401 E Lookout Drive.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, label, and stage raw materials for manufacturing operations

Operate band saws or other cutting equipment to cut raw material to specifications and work orders

Read and interpret work orders, drawings, cut lists, and material specifications

Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools

Load and unload material using forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment

Coordinate with Purchasing to communicate raw material requirements, reorder needs, shortages, and expected consumption

Maintain inventory accuracy and document material usage and movement

Ensure material traceability and proper identification throughout processing

Perform routine saw setup, blade changes, and basic preventative maintenance

Inspect cut materials for quality, dimensional accuracy, and defects

Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety standards

Communicate material shortages, quality concerns, or equipment issues to supervision

Support teams within manufacturing as needed to meet operational goals

Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business
Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of machine shop or sheet metal experience with good knowledge of common raw material types, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.

Excellent verbal communication and people skills

Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division (Must be able to use a calculator.)

Microsoft Office, good computer skills, inventory software experience a plus

Forklift experience required; certification a plus but will be certified with a forklift in-house

Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require evening and weekend shifts

Ability to move 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Pay may range from $24.00 to $27.00 hourly
The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
Base salary is one component of your total rewards package.
