Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of residential, commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), and meets project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new construction and renovations to ongoing maintenance, utilizing your extensive electrical experience and technical skills to deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, industrial, and construction environments using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and schematics to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high voltage equipment to ensure optimal operation of electrical infrastructure.
- Use testing devices such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively and safely.
- Conduit bending & Threading, EMT, RMC, IMC
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to support renovation projects, framing carpentry tasks, and general handyman duties as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols in accordance with NEC standards and local regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Assist in the training of apprentices or less experienced team members when required, sharing your knowledge of schematics, blueprint reading, and electrical codes.
Qualifications
- Valid journeyman electrician license or certification demonstrating comprehensive electrical expertise.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or residential and commercial electrician with a strong background in construction site work.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and NEC compliance standards.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of renovation projects involving electrical upgrades or modifications within existing structures.
- Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces as required on construction sites.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail; handyman experience is a plus for versatile project support.
