Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HVAC Technician specializing in thermostat installation and wiring to join our dynamic service team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining thermostats within residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Duties
- Install, wire, and calibrate various types of thermostats, including digital, programmable, and smart devices, ensuring proper integration with existing HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot thermostat issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and testing tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical faults
- Collaborate with property maintenance teams to coordinate HVAC system upgrades or repairs involving thermostat controls
- Conduct routine inspections of HVAC equipment, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ammonia refrigeration components
- Perform field service tasks such as appliance repair, equipment repair, and system maintenance to ensure optimal operation of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems
- Read and interpret HVAC design plans and schematics to accurately install or modify wiring setups
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system configurations for future reference
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a focus on thermostat installation and wiring
- Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), and plumbing connections
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to HVAC design and electrical wiring
- Familiarity with tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other diagnostic instruments
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers preferred
- Knowledge of field service procedures involving property maintenance and appliance repair
- Experience working with HVAC/R systems that utilize complex controls like smart thermostats or integrated building automation systems
- Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining safety standards and quality workmanship
