About the role
Our team is looking to add a skilled and reliable Commercial Service Plumber. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in commercial environments such as office buildings, retail spaces, and industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities
· Inspecting and Testing: Regularly inspect and test plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution and waste disposal.
· Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot any malfunctions in plumbing systems.
· Installation: Install new plumbing systems according to design specifications, including pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures.
· Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace faulty parts in plumbing systems, such as broken pipes, clogged drains, and leaking fixtures.
· Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
· Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the layout of plumbing systems and materials required.
· Client Communication: Communicate with clients to explain repairs, maintenance needs, and provide system operation instructions.
· Documentation: Document all work performed and provide detailed service reports to clients.
Required Skills and Experience
· Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of plumbing systems, including water distribution, waste disposal, and gas systems.
· Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
· Customer Service: Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and provide high-quality service.
· Safety Awareness: Adherence to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
· Physical Demands & Work Environment: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
· Union Requirement: Must be an active UA Local 100 member or willing to join.
