POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising commercial glazing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and organization skills. A deep knowledge of glazing materials is required along with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Vice President and within established policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions:
- Initializes Job handoffs with estimating (summary, margins, labor, productivity, details, and materials).
- Starts submittal and shop drawing process with engineering and the project coordinator. This includes data sheets, install instructions, material samples, shops, and engineering and other specialty long lead items that may affect start up and approvals.
- Orders material and equipment in a timely fashion. Identifies long lead time items.
- Organizes and maintains received approvals on materials.
- Develops SOV.
- Develops and communicates an install schedule. Identifies and communicates any discrepancies with the contract schedule,
- Examines and follows through on billing cycles and communicates any discrepancies to accounting.
- Obtains and relays Job prints to the field. Establishes a hand-off with field operations
- Foresees and solves any issues that come up before start up, including shortened schedules, weather, shift issues, contract schedule disputes.
- Attend job site meetings. Collaborates with general contractors, architects, and other stakeholders
- Oversees client relations and communicates with the PM for that project.
- Receives and follows bulletins for pricing COR’s and Track EWO’s.
- Maintains and follows productivity for base-bid and COR completion.
- Relays any closeout requirements for warranty as well as pursuing retainage as soon as possible.
- Ensures confidentiality of company information. Maintains good communication; establishes and maintains positive working relationships with others.
- Performs similar or related duties as required or directed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Physical requirements include the ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s); pick, pinch, type or otherwise work primarily with fingers; sustain substantial movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers.
2. Expertise storefront, curtainwall, doors, windows, glass and glazing, installation processes, and hardware.
3. Strong understanding of industry safety and quality standards.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline orientated environment
5. Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Primary functions involve sitting but walking and standing may be required occasionally.
7. Visual acuity sufficient for work dealing with preparing data and figures, transcription, computer terminal operation, and extensive reading.
8. Ability to proceed alone following standard practices and any of several procedures. Questionable cases may be referred when they arise outside of standard practice.
WORK SCHEDULE:
· Monday through Friday, days. Flexibility to accommodate workload.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Degree or GED required.
· Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Project Manager required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and On-Screen or comparable estimating software.
· Driver’s license required.
