Position Overview:
The HVAC Mechanical Superintendent will oersee the on-site execution, coordination, and supervision of HVAC installation projects from start to finish. This role requires a highly organized and experienced field leader who can manage crews, ensure adherence to project schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, and maintain strong communication with project managers, subcontractors, and customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Direct daily field operations for mechanical installations and serve as primary point of contact for field foreman to support job execution
- Coordinate with General Contractors and onsite Superintendents on scheduling and project workflow to mitigate conflicts with other trades
- Collaborate daily with Project Managers to align field activities with project timelines and budgets, including scope impacts that require change order submittals
- Oversee and manage crew work schedule to align project schedules/milestones across the Commercial portfolio
- Coordinate with the Fabrication Manager, Purchasing, and PMs to ensure ductwork, piping, and assemblies are produced and delivered on schedule
- Enforce company safety policies and onsite job requirements across all mechanical work being performed by field foremen
- Compile and distribute weekly report with detailed timeframes and progress updates on ongoing tasks and upcoming deliverables
- Other job duties as assigned or necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project supervision (Ideally mechanical project knowledge)
- Excellent leadership, communication, team-attitude and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency / ability to learn project management software, Microsoft Office, and construction scheduling tools (ServiceTitan, BlueBeam, ProCore experience a plus)
- OSHA certification a plus
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to work outdoors and in unconditioned environments for extended periods, remain on feet for long durations, and safely lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs as needed.
