Responsibilities:
- Assist journeyman/journeywoman plumbers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of plumbing systems
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes to required specifications
- Install and connect pipes, fittings, and fixtures
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and ensure proper functioning
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving plumbing issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Proficiency in pipe threading techniques
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating pipe lengths
- Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus
- Experience as a carpenter or maintenance person is beneficial for understanding remodeling projects
