What We Do
We design and fabricate patented automated tiki torches and fire effects — right here in Hawaii. Tiki torches are a huge part of Hawaiian culture, and we're creating them locally, by hand, on the Big Island.
From raw sheet metal to finished, fire-breathing art. Patented effects, CNC fabrication, custom tooling. Our work goes into elite resorts, luxury private estates, and high-end custom installations across Hawaii and beyond. A unique opportunity to build world-class Hawaiian cultural pieces right where they belong. If you've been doing this work for years and want to run a shop with real autonomy, keep reading.
The Role
This is a hands-on senior role — you'll spend most of your time actually building things. Welding, CNC work, hydraulic presses, custom machining. You'll also own shop operations (inventory, customer coordination, problem-solving), but the majority of your day is in the shop, at the machines, creating fire effects.
Mostly shop-based, with occasional field work for installs and service calls (~1 day/week). Some inter-island travel required.
This role is designed for someone who can eventually run the day to day of the shop independently while the owners focus on growth and business development.
What you'll do:
- Advanced fabrication work — welding, metal finishing, precision machining (this is where you spend most of your time)
- Electrical system design and plumbing integration
- CNC plasma operation, hydraulic press work, and custom tooling
- Inventory management — ordering parts, monitoring stock levels, keeping things running smoothly
- Customer interaction — planning installs, taking service calls, coordinating project details
- Solving complex technical problems and troubleshooting builds
- Field installs, service calls, and on-site work
- Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of hands-on fabrication/machining experience
- Expert-level welding, electrical, and plumbing skills
- Strong organizational skills — you'll own inventory and shop operations
- Good communication skills — comfortable working with customers on +installs and service
- Clean driving record (for company van use and insurance)
- Self-directed problem solver who thrives with minimal oversight
- Comfortable with a flexible schedule and occasional travel
Big plus if you have:
- Plumbing or electrical license (or significant progress toward one — we'll help you finish)
- Experience with CNC tools, hydraulic systems, or custom fabrication
- A track record of building complex, one-off projects
What We Offer
- Full-time, salaried position with bonus structure and profit sharing
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Self-managed PTO (we trust you to take the time you need)
- Standard holidays
- Real autonomy — you'll run the shop your way, with support when you need it
Why This Is a Career, Not Just a Job
This is a key role at a company about to scale hard. We're planning online sales, doubling or tripling revenue in the next few years, and sharing that success with the people who make it happen. You're not just filling a position — you're building something from the ground up and growing with it.
You'll have ownership, creative freedom, and real upside as the company grows. One of the few true island-based fabrication shops, building patented fire effects that go into elite resorts and luxury estates across Hawaii. If you want to be part of something that's going somewhere, this is your shot.
