Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Saw Operator/Brake Press Setup Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating saws and brake presses to cut, shape, and fabricate sheet metal and other materials with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, quality standards are met, and safety protocols are strictly followed. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate saws, brake presses, and other fabrication equipment to produce parts according to blueprints and specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate fabrication
- Adjust machine settings for optimal performance, including CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining tools
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot issues promptly, and ensure all tools are properly calibrated using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Conduct quality inspections on finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and visual checks to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean work area, adhere to safety standards including crane operation when handling heavy materials, and follow all safety protocols during machine operation
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving welding, assembly, tooling setup, and sheet metal handling
Requirements
- Proven experience operating saws (including band saws or chop saws) and press brake machines in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, stamping presses, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and related equipment
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T specifications for precise fabrication
- Familiarity with hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, wrenches, screwdrivers for assembly and measurement tasks
- Basic math skills necessary for measuring dimensions and calculating material requirements
- Knowledge of quality inspection procedures using precision measuring instruments to ensure product standards are met
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments

Pay: $17.50 - $19.44 per hour
