Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Body Technician to join our dynamic automotive repair team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their optimal condition through expert collision repair, bodywork, and refinishing techniques. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural alignment using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Conduct auto painting utilizing airless paint spraying techniques to achieve smooth finishes that meet factory standards.
- Repair or replace auto glass components with precision, ensuring proper fitment and safety compliance.
- Utilize MIG welding, soldering, and sheet metal fabrication skills to restore vehicle frames and panels.
- Maintain mechanical knowledge to assist with vehicle maintenance tasks related to body repairs and alignments.
- Prepare vehicles for detailing by performing sanding, sanding repairs, and surface finishing to ensure a flawless appearance.
- Collaborate with estimators and customers to assess damage, provide repair estimates, and communicate repair progress effectively.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling heavy lifting tasks and operating heavy machinery.
- Keep detailed records of repairs performed for quality assurance and warranty purposes.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, new materials, and technological advancements in auto restoration.
Experience
- Prior dealership experience or extensive background in auto body repair is highly preferred.
- Proven expertise in MIG welding, sheet metal work, auto painting, and auto glass installation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and specialized fabrication equipment.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service principles is advantageous.
- Experience with auto restoration projects or classic vehicle repairs is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes including auto painting techniques such as airless spray application.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs.
- Demonstrated proficiency in welding (including welding types relevant to automotive work), soldering, and assembly tasks related to vehicle repair. This role requires a proactive approach combined with technical expertise to deliver outstanding results. Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
