Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in welding, fabrication, and blueprint reading, with a strong focus on precision and quality. This role involves working on various construction and manufacturing projects, ensuring all welds meet industry standards and safety regulations. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring advanced welding techniques and mechanical knowledge, contributing to the production of high-quality metal components and assemblies.
Duties
- Perform TIG welding on a variety of materials, including sheet metal, ductwork, and pipe systems, adhering to project specifications and ASME codes & standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and fabrication procedures
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble metal components
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of welds and assemblies
- Operate rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts for material handling and positioning of heavy components
- Execute pipe threading, soldering, machining, and assembly tasks as needed for complex fabrication projects
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to welding, rigging, and machinery operation
- Inspect finished welds for quality assurance using visual inspection techniques and testing methods
Qualifications
- Proven experience in TIG welding with certification from an accredited program
- Knowledge of welding standards and industry best practices
- Experience with MIG welding (GMAW), FCAW processes preferred
- Familiarity with construction site environments and manufacturing settings
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes including press brake operation, plasma cutting, pipe threading, and assembly
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, schematics, and schematics interpretation
- Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding projects
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
