Position Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead and manage multiple mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple mechanical (HVAC and plumbing) construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with schedule milestones and general contractor requirements
Track labor productivity and manhours to maintain budget and identify variances early
Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement, delivery, and project completion
Oversee project budgets, cost control, and financial performance, including forecasting and reporting
Review and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and subcontract documents
Coordinate directly with general contractors, responding to project requirements, schedule updates, and site coordination needs
Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards
Develop and maintain internal project schedules in alignment with GC master schedules
Negotiate and manage change orders, including cost justification and proper documentation
Support procurement and buyout processes to ensure cost efficiency
Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers and assistant project managers

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical construction project management
Strong background in commercial plumbing and HVAC systems
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
Experience working with general contractors and project stakeholders
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore) and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the DMV market
Experience working for a mechanical subcontractor
Familiarity with design-build projects and value engineering
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
