About Us
Spencer Home Services is a family-owned, multi-trade home services company with over 40 years serving Essex County and the North Shore. We specialize in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Sewer & Drain — backed by 5-star Google reviews, transparent flat-rate pricing, and a Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. We’re a Nexstar Network member, and we invest heavily in training, technology, and our people.
The Role
We’re hiring an HVAC Installer who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. You’ll be responsible for the professional installation of residential heating and cooling equipment — including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, and air handlers. Whether you’re running as a lead or working alongside one, you’ll deliver clean, code-compliant installs that reflect Spencer’s reputation for quality craftsmanship.
What You’ll Do
- Install residential HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, air handlers, and boilers
- Perform full system changeouts, equipment upgrades, and new construction rough-ins
- Run refrigerant line sets, condensate drains, gas piping, and electrical connections per code
- Fabricate, modify, and install sheet metal ductwork and fittings as needed
- Braze and solder refrigerant piping using proper nitrogen purge technique
- Perform system startup, commissioning, and performance testing on all installed equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and company vehicle at all times
- Complete job documentation, photos, and customer sign-off accurately in ServiceTitan
- Communicate professionally with homeowners — explaining the work performed and answering questions with confidence
- Collaborate with install coordinators, comfort advisors, and service management to keep projects on schedule
- Participate in weekly team meetings, in-house training, and vendor technical training
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of residential HVAC installation experience (motivated candidates with less experience and a strong commitment to learning will be considered)
- EPA Universal Certification
- Strong working knowledge of heating and cooling systems, refrigerant circuits, airflow principles, and Massachusetts mechanical code
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications
- Proficiency with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, brazing, and piping
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar field management software is a plus
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-first mentality
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. and work in attics, crawlspaces, roofs, and varying weather conditions
- Must pass a background check
