Responsibilities

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings, ensuring compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to execute precise electrical work.
Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other specialized equipment to perform installations and diagnostics.
Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes within industrial facilities.
Conduct low voltage and high voltage electrical work safely on construction sites or during renovation projects.
Read and interpret schematics for complex electrical systems; modify or upgrade existing wiring as needed.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or maintenance person services to ensure seamless project execution.
Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, schematics updates, and safety logs.
Follow all safety protocols related to construction site work, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards.
Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues using diagnostic tools; identify root causes quickly to minimize downtime.
Support the installation of low voltage systems such as security alarms or communication wiring where applicable.
Participate actively in renovation projects by upgrading existing electrical infrastructure for improved efficiency or compliance.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a solid understanding of commercial electrical systems; previous experience on construction sites is highly valued.
Strong knowledge of NEC regulations and safety standards for high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for complex electrical installations.
Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, and automation controls is preferred.
Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), multimeters (including ohmmeters), and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting electrical issues.
Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces typical of renovation or construction environments.
Construction site experience demonstrating adaptability to dynamic project demands while maintaining quality standards.
Familiarity with framing carpentry or maintenance person skills is a plus for supporting broader project needs.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to reading technical drawings and schematics.
Valid licenses or certifications related to electrical work are required; additional certifications such as OSHA training are advantageous.
