About the Role

We are hiring a Material Handler / Overhead Crane Operator to support the movement and staging of structural steel beams and components within our manufacturing facility.

This is a hands-on role operating indoor gantry cranes and rigging equipment to safely move large steel materials throughout production. This is not a forklift-only position—experience with overhead cranes and heavy steel is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do

Operate indoor gantry cranes to move structural steel beams, plates, and assemblies
Safely rig and lift materials using slings, chains, and other rigging equipment
Load, unload, and stage materials for fabrication, welding, and shipping
Deliver materials to production areas to support workflow and efficiency
Ensure proper load balance, stability, and safe handling during all lifts
Communicate with team members during lifts using hand signals or radio
Inspect rigging equipment and report any safety or equipment issues
Maintain organized staging areas and safe work zones

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of material handling experience in a manufacturing or structural steel environment preferred
Experience operating overhead or gantry cranes strongly preferred
Experience with rigging and handling heavy materials
Strong focus on safety and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Reliable, team-oriented, and consistent

Work Environment

Indoor manufacturing facility with heavy structural steel materials and overhead cranes
Work around welding, fabrication, and production equipment
Exposure to noise and industrial conditions

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
Ability to safely work around heavy steel materials and moving equipment
