Job Title: Electrical Controls Project Manager

Magnum Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Project Manager to support mission-critical projects. This role will be responsible for managing controls-related scope, coordinating with field leadership, vendors, subcontractors, design teams, and project stakeholders to ensure work is planned, tracked, and executed safely, efficiently, and professionally.
The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background, experience with controls systems, and the ability to manage fast-moving project demands while maintaining communication, accountability, and schedule alignment across multiple teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage electrical controls scope from planning through completion.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, general foremen, controls contractors, vendors, and engineering/design teams.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, schedules, and project documentation related to controls systems.
- Track manpower, materials, equipment, deliverables, and installation progress.
- Support field teams with planning, sequencing, layout, material readiness, and issue resolution.
- Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, schedule risks, and coordination issues early.
- Lead or participate in project meetings related to controls, commissioning, scheduling, and coordination.
- Work closely with prefab teams, suppliers, and third-party vendors where applicable.
- Ensure work is being completed in alignment with project requirements, safety standards, quality expectations, and schedule milestones.
- Assist with change order identification, documentation, pricing support, and project reporting.
- Maintain strong communication between office leadership, field leadership, customers, and trade partners.
Qualifications
- Electrical construction experience required.
- Controls, automation, instrumentation, or low-voltage systems experience strongly preferred.
- Prior project management experience in commercial, industrial, or data center construction preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, controls drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Strong understanding of field installation, project sequencing, and construction coordination.
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, material tracking, and project documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment with multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, Accubid, Trimble, or similar construction/project management software is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large commercial project experience.
- Experience coordinating with commissioning agents, controls integrators, BAS/BMS contractors, equipment vendors, and electrical field teams.
- Experience managing controls scope tied to power distribution, mechanical systems, lighting controls, fire alarm, security, access control, instrumentation, or building automation systems.
