Storm Equipment is deeply rooted in the industry we serve. We even still maintain a commercial snow removal business in Mankato to this day! This continually keeps us in touch with our roots as snow contractors, and also serves as the real world launching pad for new products and innovations.
Position Summary
The Welder primarily performs fabrication and MIG welding for heavy equipment attachments. The Welder will have a thorough understanding of welding techniques, materials, equipment, and have a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
· Read and interpret drawings to understand project specifications.
· Set up and operating welding equipment and tools according to safety standards and job requirements.
· Position material in jigs or fixtures in proper position for welding.
· Ability to judge the type and gauge of steel to be welding and make proper head adjustments as required by welding procedures.
· Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
· Assist with continuous process improvement by following process flow and remaining flexible to complete tasks as part of the team.
· Maintain equipment and tools on a routine basis for good working condition.
· Manage and maintain the necessary supplies and materials in this job function.
· Maintain a clean and safe work area.
· Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
· Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on the job.
· Collaborate with other team members to optimize production processes and improve overall efficiency.
Location and Hours
● Full-Time: 40+ hours/week
● Core availability: Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM
● Travel Requirements: Storm Equipment has multiple facilities in the 30-mile radius of Mankato. This position’s primary location will be at Storm’s metal fabrication facility in Le Center, MN, but will occasionally require local travel to Mankato, Eagle Lake, or Madison Lake facilities as well.
Qualifications and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 3+ years previous experience MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
· Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, recognize welding symbols and drawing specifications.
· Familiarity with different types of metals and their properties.
· Strong understanding of welding safety standards and practices.
· Ability to pass forklift certification.
· Preferred – AWS Certification
Base Salary: $25-$30 per hour or greater depending on experience and qualifications of the candidate.
PTO: 2 Weeks Annually
