Key Responsibilities

The Estimator / Reconstruction Project Manager will inspect properties affected by water, fire, mold, storm, or other property damage and prepare detailed reconstruction estimates using estimating software such as Xactimate. This person will review project scopes, take measurements, document damages, create accurate estimates, and work with customers, insurance adjusters, subcontractors, and internal teams to move projects forward efficiently.

This role will manage reconstruction projects from start to finish, including scheduling trades, ordering materials, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring job progress, completing quality checks, and ensuring all work is completed according to scope, budget, and timeline. The Project Manager will also be responsible for reviewing job costs, tracking change orders, maintaining documentation, and ensuring proper communication throughout the life of the project.

The Estimator / Reconstruction Project Manager will serve as the main point of contact for customers during the reconstruction process, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive customer experience. This role requires strong follow-up, problem-solving, and the ability to keep projects moving while balancing customer expectations, insurance requirements, and production goals.

Essential Duties

Inspect residential and commercial properties to determine reconstruction scope of work.
Write accurate and detailed reconstruction estimates using Xactimate or similar estimating software.
Communicate with insurance adjusters, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Manage reconstruction projects from initial estimate through final completion.
Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, trades, materials, inspections, and job-site activities.
Review project budgets, job costing, supplements, and change orders.
Ensure all work is completed according to scope, quality standards, and customer expectations.
Maintain accurate project documentation, photos, notes, estimates, approvals, and job updates.
Monitor project timelines and proactively address delays or issues.
Conduct job-site visits to verify progress, workmanship, safety, and cleanliness.
Resolve customer concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety guidelines, and industry standards.
Work closely with mitigation, reconstruction, contents, and administrative teams to ensure proper job handoff and completion.
Support collections and final job closeout by ensuring required documentation is complete.

Qualifications

Previous experience in construction, reconstruction, restoration, estimating, or project management required.
Experience writing estimates in Xactimate strongly preferred.
Knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction practices, materials, building codes, and repair processes.
Restoration industry experience with water, fire, mold, or storm damage preferred.
Strong understanding of insurance repair processes and supplementing preferred.
Ability to read scopes of work, sketches, measurements, and construction documents.
Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities at the same time.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficient with computers, mobile apps, email, Microsoft Office, and job management systems.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Preferred Experience

Xactimate estimating experience.
Experience working with insurance adjusters and property claims.
Previous SERVPRO, restoration, or disaster recovery experience.
Experience managing subcontractors and construction schedules.
Knowledge of DASH, WorkCenter, XactAnalysis, DocuSketch, or similar restoration software.
IICRC certifications are a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk job sites, climb stairs, and inspect damaged properties.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and move throughout residential and commercial job sites.
Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in environments affected by water, fire, mold, or construction damage.
Ability to travel locally to job sites as needed.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. This position may include base salary, commission, bonus opportunities, vehicle allowance or company vehicle eligibility, and benefits depending on company policy and location.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
