Senior Field Service Technician
Location: North Chelmsford, MA (Remote + Field-Based | New England Region)
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Field Service Technician to support customers throughout the New England region. This is a field-based role working from home and traveling to customer sites, with approximately 70% of work within a 50-mile radius of the North Chelmsford, MA office.
This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing advanced industrial equipment, including refrigeration systems, electrical systems, and environmental test chambers.

Key Responsibilities
- Senior Field Service Technician Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical and refrigeration systems on-site
- Diagnose, repair, certify, and recalibrate industrial equipment to factory specifications
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex system failures across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
- Program and integrate PLCs into industrial and test chamber systems
- Work with RS-232, RS-485, and IP-based communication protocols
- Interpret system data and performance trends to identify issues and optimize performance
- Perform mechanical and electrical tasks including assembly, leveling, diagnostics, and repairs
- Support system-level troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network components
- Respond to service calls with timely and effective solutions
- Develop or modify machine-related software and control systems
- Perform copper brazing and piping repairs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on testing and new product development
- Conduct warranty troubleshooting and repairs
Qualifications
- Strong experience with commercial and industrial HVAC systems (RTUs, chillers, boilers, split systems)
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills, including reading schematics and diagnosing circuits
- Refrigeration expertise, including charging, leak detection, and EPA compliance
- Experience with controls and automation systems, including PLCs and BAS/BMS
- Knowledge of cascade or multi-stage chiller systems preferred
- Experience with airflow design, ductwork, and system balancing
- Hands-on skills including brazing, soldering, and welding
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance
- Strong computer and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

- U.S. Citizen (required for access to certain job sites)
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Must have a personal credit card for booking travel (company card provided for expenses)
