Superior Iron Works, Inc. is a growing AISC certified miscellaneous metals/ structural steel fabricator and erector in the DC, VA & MD areas. We are currently looking for full-time painters.

Primary duties include:

Read and understand blueprints.
Clean metal surfaces to industry standard prior to coating application.
Apply primer to fabricated steel.
Understand proper environmental conditions for coating applications.
Apply coatings per manufacturer’s Product Data Sheets and to proper mil.
Maintain a neat and orderly environment.
Proper use of PPE and safe handling of paint and other hazardous material.

Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, and lift up to 50 lbs.

High school diploma or GED preferred (but not required).

Metal painting experience and knowledge of SSPC standards/specs preferred but not required.

Day shift hours are 7am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday; Night shift hours are 3:30 pm - midnight. Compensation will be determined based on experience and skill level.

Must have own transportation.
