LEAD INSTALL TECHNICIAN
Affordable Air is seeking an experienced Lead Install Technician to join our growing HVAC team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing residential and light commercial HVAC installations while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
This position is ideal for a motivated HVAC professional with strong mechanical knowledge, proven installation experience, and the ability to lead and mentor a team.
Position Overview
As a Lead Install Technician, you will manage HVAC installation projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for system installation, troubleshooting, and ensuring work is completed according to specifications, safety standards, and company expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise HVAC installation projects
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment
- Read and interpret HVAC schematics, blueprints, and technical documents
- Coordinate with service technicians and property maintenance teams
- Perform field service visits for repairs, maintenance, and system diagnostics
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment
- Ensure proper installation of mechanical and plumbing components
- Maintain compliance with all safety and industry standards
- Train and mentor junior technicians on HVAC/R best practices and safety procedures
Requirements
- HVAC experience is REQUIRED
- Valid driver’s license with a CLEAN driving record — NO EXCEPTIONS
- Proven experience in HVAC installation or service technician roles
- Strong mechanical aptitude and HVAC/R knowledge
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Experience with system troubleshooting and repairs
- Familiarity with industry safety standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality standards
