Position Overview
Oak Electric is looking for a professional HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Waterford. This is a role for a skilled technician who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and superior customer service. You will move beyond basic assistance to take full ownership of system diagnostics, complex repairs, and preventative maintenance for both residential and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Independent Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of HVAC equipment including furnaces, AC units, and commercial rooftop units (RTUs).
- Expert Repairs: Perform component replacements (compressors, motors, boards), refrigerant recovery, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct thorough system "tuneups" to maximize equipment efficiency and longevity for our customers.
- Technical Compliance: Ensure all installations and repairs meet local building codes and industry safety standards.
- Customer Advisor: Communicate technical issues clearly to customers, providing honest recommendations and professional solutions.
- Logistics & Documentation: Maintain accurate digital service records and ensure all tools and equipment are in peak working condition.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in HVAC service and repair.
- Journeyman license is a plus.
- Deep understanding of refrigeration cycles, airflow, and electrical schematics.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. and work comfortably in attics, crawl spaces, or on rooftops.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

- HVAC Service and Installation: 3 years (Required)
License/Certification:

- EPA 608 Certification (Required)
