Piedmont Decks and Outdoor Living is a growing outdoor living and decking company specializing in custom decks, screened porches, 3 season rooms, and other outdoor spaces. We take pride in high-quality craftsmanship, professional service, and creating exceptional outdoor spaces for homeowners.

We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to oversee construction projects from start to finish while leading crews in the field. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who values quality work, strong communication, and jobsite efficiency.

Position Summary

The Lead Carpenter is responsible for managing day-to-day jobsite operations, performing skilled carpentry work, supervising crew members, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise carpentry crews on residential deck and outdoor living projects
Read and interpret plans, layouts, and construction drawings
Build decks, roofs, and other related structures
Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality expectations
Communicate professionally with homeowners and project managers
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
Coordinate material usage and identify additional material needs
Troubleshoot field issues and provide solutions as needed

Qualifications

10+ years of carpentry experience required
5+ years of crew leadership or foreman experience preferred
Strong knowledge of deck framing, composite decking systems, and exterior carpentry
Ability to read blueprints and plans
Experience using power tools, saws, and construction equipment safely
Valid driver’s license
Strong work ethic, leadership skills, and attention to detail
Ability to lift 80+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
