We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to oversee construction projects from start to finish while leading crews in the field. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who values quality work, strong communication, and jobsite efficiency.
Position Summary
The Lead Carpenter is responsible for managing day-to-day jobsite operations, performing skilled carpentry work, supervising crew members, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise carpentry crews on residential deck and outdoor living projects
- Read and interpret plans, layouts, and construction drawings
- Build decks, roofs, and other related structures
- Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality expectations
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and project managers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
- Coordinate material usage and identify additional material needs
- Troubleshoot field issues and provide solutions as needed
Qualifications
- 10+ years of carpentry experience required
- 5+ years of crew leadership or foreman experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of deck framing, composite decking systems, and exterior carpentry
- Ability to read blueprints and plans
- Experience using power tools, saws, and construction equipment safely
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong work ethic, leadership skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to lift 80+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
