Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Plumbing/Mechanical Estimator to join our clients commercial construction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for plumbing and mechanical (wet side) systems on large-scale commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on trade or engineering experience, strong knowledge of construction drawings and specifications, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, field teams, vendors, and clients.

Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Compile and organize solicitation documentation for bidding opportunities.
- Request, qualify, and evaluate pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment vendors.
- Prepare accurate, detailed plumbing and mechanical estimates based on plans, specifications, and site conditions.
- Develop formal proposals for review and client submission.
- Review and provide guidance on proposals prepared by junior estimators.
- Prepare detailed project documentation for field personnel and participate in job award meetings.
- Collaborate with project managers during award and execution phases, including subcontractor selection, budget buyouts, change order evaluations, and claim analysis.
- Monitor project solicitations, coordinate labor forecasting, and communicate with field teams on staffing needs.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of cost estimating experience in commercial plumbing/mechanical systems.
- Trade or engineering background—plumbing journeyman license or mechanical engineering experience highly preferred.
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex construction documents and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Vista Viewpoint, Trimble Estimation, and Bluebeam or similar PDF editing software.
- Prior work in commercial construction estimating for large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of current industry pricing, labor rates, and market trends.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
