Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing HVAC systems across a variety of commercial and residential properties. Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems such as pipe installation, leak detection, and drainage troubleshooting.
- Utilize diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and other testing devices to identify electrical or mechanical faults within HVAC/R equipment.
- Repair or replace components such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, and control systems; perform welding or other mechanical repairs as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and system performance reports for each client site.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a solid understanding of construction principles related to HVAC installation and repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), appliance repair, boiler systems, and property maintenance.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Familiarity with field service operations including troubleshooting electrical issues using tools like ohmmeters; performing equipment repair; welding; and general maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems associated with HVAC setups; experience working with air conditioning units and refrigeration systems is essential.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver vehicles preferred.
- Additional skills such as welding certification, mechanical experience in boiler operation or ammonia refrigeration are advantageous.
